School kids from all over Lanarkshire take part in St Andrew's Hospice Fun Run

South Lanarkshire school kids took part in the St Andrew’s Hospice Fun Run.

Pupils, teachers and staff from Holy Cross, St John Ogilvie and Uddingston Grammar were among those who took part in the 6k challenge.

And they joined over 30 Lanarkshire schools tasked with running around Strathclyde Country Park.

However, the big winner on the day was undoubtedly St Andrew’s Hospice, with thousands of pounds being raised.

Live entertainment was provided by Warren Capaldi, brother of chart-topping superstar Lewis.

The hospice currently costs £5.5 million a year to run. With only 18 per cent of that cost funded by the government, it relies on the generosity of the public to fund the rest.
