Christmas is out of the way, children are back in school and our eyes are firmly set on Easter weekend and (hopefully) long summer days spent in the garden.
Many are also planning to try and get away somewhere warmer, Covid-restrictions allowing. Whether you are constrained by term time dates, or gleefully trying to avoid them so you can save money on your child-free holiday, they are something we all need to know.
This year Easter falls quite late, which means the four-day weekend will fall in the middle of the school holidays, rather than at the beginning.

Last year May saw much better weather than August, which means if you are planning to make the most of the British sunshine you may need to do it sooner rather than later and plan some days out for the summer half term.

This year, term times at state schools run by Bristol, south Gloucestershire and North Somerset councils will all start and end at the exact same time.
Foundation, trust, academy and voluntary aided schools set their own term dates and may differ.
The dates for the 2021/22 academic year are:
Term 1: Thursday 2 September 2021 to Friday 22 October 2021
Term 2: Monday 1 November 2021 to Friday 17 December 2021
Term 3: Tuesday 4 January 2022 to Friday 18 February 2022
Term 4: Monday 28th February 2022 to Friday 8th April 2022
Term 5: Monday 25 April 2022 to Friday 27 May 2022
Term 6: Monday 6 June 2022 to Friday 22 July 2022
