KALASIN: A school director accused of sexually abusing a female student has been sacked after a disciplinary probe found him guilty of committing sexual misconduct.
The Kalasin provincial education committee had decided to dismiss Somsak Khanthawee, the director of a school in the northeastern province's Kuchinarai district, as recommended by a disciplinary panel set up by the Kalasin provincial education office, provincial education officer Kittiphot Phonphila said Thursday. The disciplinary panel found him guilty.
The provincial education committee will tell the Primary Educational Service Area Office (Pesao) 3, which supervises the school, to carry out the punitive action against Mr Somsak.
The name of the school was not given.
The panel was formed to investigate the school director on June 20 last year after a female teacher filed a complaint with Pesao 3 accusing Mr Somsak, her former husband, of sexually abusing her 19-year-old daughter.
The teacher, whose name was withheld, also lodged a complaint against the school director at Kuchinarai police station. Mr Somsak later reported to investigators to answer a charge of sexual abuse.
