A school bus driver has won $50,000 (£45,000) in the lottery, claiming he studied the winning numbers for years and worked out which ones to play.
The 77-year-old told the lottery he had noticed which numbers tended to come up the most often and would pick them.
Over the years, he won "lots and lots of small and not-so-small wins, but nothing quite like this!"
The Maryland State Lottery said: "He's been playing the same Bonus Match 5 numbers for years, a Baltimore man told Lottery officials.
"And for years, he continued, those numbers have paid off."
They added that the bus driver had an excellent memory for numbers, saying: "The 77-year-old school bus driver put his lucky combination together based on game results he remembers going back 20 years."
The lucky winner said: "I can remember numbers and number groups from some of the first Bonus Match 5 drawings you ever had. They just stick in my head."
He was watching TV when the September 16 winning numbers scrolled across the screen. He said: "I recognized them right away, all five of them!"
The state lottery added that the driver could not believe his luck and had to get his family members to double-check the result.
They said: "Not willing to believe that his ticket matched all of the winning numbers, the Bonus Match 5 fan had his family check his ticket. He then called the Lottery's winning numbers phone line. It all checked out."
They continued: "Our winner is in the market for a new car, something a bit smaller and a bit less yellow than his work vehicle, and this is where he'll use his $50,000 in Bonus Match 5 cash.
"The owners of Long Gate Mobil, the Lottery retailer that sold his ticket, will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize winning ticket. The lucky gas station can be found at 4398 Montgomery Road in Ellicott City."
Getting the winning numbers is just the first step to getting the money though.
Recently a lottery winner declined the call letting him know he had won $100,000 (£90,000) because it was an unknown number.
The winner only realised he may have won after checking his emails and then seeing a message from the state lottery.
This made him check his voicemail where sure enough, he had a message informing him of his good fortune.
The lucky winner, from Washtenaw County, Michigan, who chose to remain anonymous, said: "I received a call from a number I didn't recognise, so I didn't answer it and it slipped my mind."
