The negligence of a school bus driver on Thursday took the life of a one-and-half-year-old boy, Prabhnoor Singh, at the nearby Dadehar Sahib village, which falls under the Harike police station.
The deceased’s father Charanjit Singh said he had gone to see off her daughter for school and his child Prabhnoor was also along with him. “When my daughter was boarding the bus, my son was standing near me. The bus moved so speedily that the front tyres of the bus crushed my innocent baby. It damaged his head severely. As a result, he died on the spot,” he said.
The driver of school bus associated with Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa School, Sarhali, which is managed under the Kar Sewa, a religious organisation in Sarhali, fled from the spot.
A team of Harike Police station reached the spot and assured the victim’s family to take requisite action against the accused. The villagers gathered there and demanded strong action against the driver whose negligence killed the child. However, no case has been registered against the driver so far.
