School bomb threats: Glasgow schools searched by police following threats

Two schools in Glasgow were searched by police following "malicious" bomb threats on Monday morning.

Glasgow police are conducting inquiries after the High School of Glasgow and Hill Head High received automated voice calls.

Staff and police searched both schools and nothing suspicious was found.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Two schools in Glasgow have received a threat via the telephone.

"Staff and police have searched both school buildings and nothing untoward was found.

"Schools are operating as normal and officers are continuing inquiries.

"At this stage, police are treating these incidents as malicious calls."

Six schools in the West Midlands were also targeted by bomb threat calls on Monday. West Midlands Police are investigating the calls, which they said were "false and malicious".
