Rain stops play on day two at the SCG with Usman Khawaja five runs short of a maiden Test double century in the first innings of the final Test against South Africa.
It came after Steve Smith scored 104 — his 30th Test century, passing Don Bradman's mark of 29 — and Travis Head smashed a 59-ball 70 to help Australia to 4-475 on another rain-shortened day in Sydney.

Well, that's it for the day folks.
Another early start in store tomorrow morning as Australia possibly bats for another small spell to get Usman Khawaja to his maiden double ton.
After that, the bowlers will be let loose on a pitch that has not misbehaved at all for the first two days of the match, but is exhibiting some scarring.
We'll be back bright and early for that, so we look forward to seeing you then.

Is Renshaw allowed to field when the Aussies are bowling?

Yes he is.
We had a situation like this in the Commonwealth Games final when, on the morning of the match, Australia all-rounder Tahlia McGrath tested positive to COVID-19 and was still allowed to play.
She even took a catch but could not celebrate that with her teammates.
So Renshaw is allowed to play, and field, as long as he stays away from everyone else.
Usman Khawaja just told Fox Sport that the closest he's going to get to his Queensland teammate in the middle will be for a fist tap with the gloves on.
He even said he's taught his youngest daughter to say: "Renny bleugh" when she sees him.

A couple of balls are staying low out there.
Renshaw clips off his hip and steals the strike from his state captain to start the next over. He has a little cough in the crook of his elbow before there mid-pitch discussion. Hope he's feeling OK out there, batting in the rain too.

Travis Head crushed a short ball very cleanly and it went straight to the man in the deep, Rassie van der Dussen. He didn't really pick it up until the last second and ultimately took a really good low catch.

Head brings up the 100-run partnership off 11 deliveries with a cross-bat slap through the off side.
BOOOOM! Shuffling down and whacking Harmer back over his head for six runs. Head might not be the best player of spin in the world, but when he's going he hits it as cleanly as anyone.
