'Scenes when Wolves beat them!' - Rival fans mock Arsenal after Europa League round of 16 draw

Arsenal fans will have a sense of what might have been this afternoon after seeing the draw made for the last 16 of the Europa League.

The Gunners were knocked out of the competition last night by Greek side Olympiacos, with the visitors to the Emirates Stadium going through on away goals after scoring late on in the second half of extra time to send Arsenal out.

That was despite Arsenal claiming a 1-0 advantage in the first leg away from home, thanks to Alexandre Lacazette's goal in Greece.

But instead of Arsenal going through to the last 16, it is Olympiacos, who stunned the Gunners in north London to win 2-1 on the night and progress via the away goals rule.

Arteta believes Aubameyang doesn't need titles to be considered world-class

And Olympiacos will now go on to face Arsenal's Premier League rivals Wolves in the next round, after being drawn to face Nuno Espirito Santo in the last 16 draw this afternoon.

That has led to some rival fans saying the same thing about Arsenal on social media, with Manchester United and Wolves supporters among them.

Here's what they have been saying following the draw.

The result means Arsenal now have just the Premier League and FA Cup to focus on for the rest of the season.

The Gunners currently sit ninth in the Premier League, seven points behind Chelsea in fourth and four points behind Manchester United in fifth.

Arteta's side travel to face Portsmouth in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night.
