Scenes 'similar to New Year's Eve' as huge Halloween queues formed for Nottingham nightclubs

There were huge queues for Nottingham nightclubs on Saturday night as revellers took to the streets in fancy dress, on the night before Halloween.

People lined the streets on Saturday night, October 30, looking to get into popular city clubs such as Stealth in Goldsmith Street, and Rock City, in Talbot Street, and the nearby Rescue Rooms.

In scenes similar to those you would expect on New Year's Eve, video footage showed club-goers running for a chance to get inside.

A lot of people were kitted out in fancy dress for Halloween weekend and chose Saturday night to show off their outfits while out and about.

It comes as one person said they saw more than 100 people queuing outside the Luvyababes fancy dress shop in Victoria Centre in the hope of finding the right outfit for the festivities.

During the week, security guards were dispatched on the door of the shop in scenes that were "similar to a festival", according to one eyewitness.

A police van was located on Goldsmith Street, making sure there were no troubles as people queued to enter into Stealth.

A lot of clubs and bars around the city had special Halloween themed nights on for customers.

Pryzm in Lower Parliament Street got into the spooky spirit with a giant blow-up Frankenstein located above the door of the club, and tickets for their events were sold out over Halloween weekend.

It comes as lockdowns, rising Covid cases and a vaccine divide mark the start of the second pandemic winter in Europe.
