Scary video shows block swallowed by smoke as emergency services rush to 'criminal damage' fire in Coolock

Dramatic footage shows smoke bellowing out of a North Dublin complex as emergency services desperately try to put the blaze out.

Gardai are investigating the suspicious fire which happened at Cromcastle Court, Kilmore, in the early hours of Friday morning.

A spokesman for Gardai said on Friday morning that they were treating the incident as "criminal damage".

Luckily there were no injuries reported while forensic workers stayed at the scene for hours inspecting the damage.

The Dublin Fire Brigade managed to control the blaze at 7.28am according to a spokesperson who described the fire as "well-developed" by the time they arrived.

They said: “Dublin Fire Brigade attended an incident at Cromcastle Park following a 999/112 call to the East Regional Communication Centre at 07:06am this morning.

“On arrival crews were met with a well-developed domestic fire involving two apartments.

“Fire crews from Kilbarrack and North Strand stations attended and using breathing apparatus conducted a search of the premises and dealt with the fire

“No injuries are reported and the fire was brought under control at 07:28.”
