Scary scenes as young group gang up on teen kicking him in head on ground in Dublin City attack

There were shocking scenes in Dublin City Centre yesterday as a young group ganged up on a lone teen and kicked him on the ground in a broad daylight attack.

In videos seen by Dublin Live, the gang can be seen following, threatening and throwing punches at the teen on O'Connell Street before wrestling him to the floor and visibly delivering brutal blows to him.

As many as five young men can be seen attacking the youngster dressed in all black who seems to be by himself.

At first, one of the men at the top of the group can be seen swinging for the teen as he tries to skip away in the packed street.

Seconds later, the whole group visibly gather around the young man and try to attack him but he manages to break away and run further down the street.

But in another video, the group can be seen getting the teen on the ground and kicking him in the head as they surround him.

One witness told Dublin Live: "It was really frightening, these were all just young teenagers. When they had him on the ground, I thought he was going to be seriously injured but thankfully, someone said they had called the gardai and they all dispersed.

"I'd hate to be a child growing up in this current era. It's just not safe.

"I'd say with lockdown easing, this will be the start of a lot more anti-social behaviour too.

"It's not a life I would want to be raising children in and unfortunately I don't live too far from here."
