A number of Manchester United supporters have been reacting to a report that has claimed the club is considering using Jadon Sancho as a wing-back.
According to a report by The Athletic, United's coaches have been trying Sancho out in a right wing-back role in recent training sessions, following their recent switch to a 3-5-2 formation.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been struggling for form of late, with his performance against Manchester City on Saturday attracting huge criticism — and United are seemingly prepared to experiment with a new approach.
Sancho, after several years of being linked with a move to Old Trafford, finally sealed a move to United during the summer transfer window, joining the club in a £72.9million deal.
The England international was supposed to be United's answer to their long-term search for a new right-sided winger, but he has failed to register a goal or assist so far, amid limited game-time.
Now, talk of the 21-year-old being forced to apply his trade at wing-back has got United fans on social media talking.
Fans have been reacting with anger and frustration to the report, further increasing calls for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjae r to be axed.
Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some United supporters have had to say.
As you can see from the messages displayed in the Tweets above, the prospect of Sancho operating in a wing-back role has not gone down with many United fans.
Sancho was signed to run at defenders and make things happen in the final third, just as he had done during his time in at Borussia Dortmund.
He has made a total of 13 appearances for United this term in all competitions, seven of those coming from the substitutes bench.
