Scary footage shows van engulfed in flames on Dublin's M50

Scary footage shows a van engulfed in flames on the side of the M50 motorway in Dublin as huge plumes of smoke filled the air causing traffic delays on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on the Northbound side of the busy motorway between Blanchardstown and Finglas as thick smoke caused visibility issues for road users around 2pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene to deal with the incident and urged commuters to avoid the route.

Dublin Fire Brigade used foam to extinguish the flames and reported no injuries in the incident (Dublin Fire Brigade)

Dublin Fire Brigade extinguished the flames and thankfully reported no injuries during the shocking incident.

They tweeted: "Firefighters used foam to extinguish a van on fire on the M50 earlier this afternoon.

"The fire was northbound between junction 6 Blanchardstown and junction 5 Finglas. There were no injuries."
