Scarlett Moffatt was left bruised after 'intense' new show Apocalypse Wow

Scarlett Moffatt has confessed her latest TV venture was much more "intense" than her I'm A Celebrity stint in 2016.

The former Gogglebox star teased the new ITV2 series called Apocalypse Wow, hosted by AJ Odudu and Donna Preston.

Scarlett confessed she and the other stars who she filmed with were left very bruised after they took on the challenges, with one contender left in tears too.

In the new show, contestants take part in a series of battles in the Torture Dome, with some guests soon joining them.

Scarlett is joined by Chris Hughes, Darren Harriott, Bobby Norris and Kimberley Wyatt for the first episode.

Other stars to feature later on include Kemah Bob, The Vivienne, Jessica Wright, Sam Thompson, Jordan Davies and Karim Zeroual.

Scarlett and her group will face experts in specific fields, including one of the world’s strongest men, Master Enormo, Hot Slippy Jesus, the UK's no.1 gravy wrestler, and The Mermaid.

They will have to work together as a team to come out on top, as they have to face a series of physical challenges in a bid to win money for charity.

Speaking on This Morning on Friday, Scarlett confessed she and her co-stars really went for it and were left bruised as a result.

Host Eamonn Holmes asked if there had been any injuries, to which she replied: "Everybody! Everybody, we were all bruised like peaches."

On the show being tough, she added: "We all sort of chipped in together, it was honestly more intense than I'm A Celebrity.

"I thought after I did Gogglebox and I'm A Celebrity, I thought 'this is the craziest thing I have ever done' and then I did this show!"

Scarlett also revealed Bobby's tears on the show which she thought were fake, as he became a human piñata.

She said: "I got made captain, which sounded lovely, but I had to make the decision at the end of each episode about who went up in this human piñata.

"They were strapped, they couldn't move. It was about 20ft in the air, and the rest of the people in the show had these harness things and we would jump and whack the human piñata.

"Poor Bobby Norris, we thought he was crying and playing up to the cameras – and he wasn't.

"And now I feel bad, because I was laughing while I was hitting him. I think he was really in pain."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
