Scarlett Moffatt says she'll 'never give up' after failing driving test 13 times

Scarlett Moffatt has opened up about having failed her driving test 13 times, with the reality TV star explaining that she doesn't "give up" despite the difficulty in passing.

The presenter, 31, will front upcoming BBC show Scarlett's Driving School, which will follow learner drivers on an intensive crash course with the help of some of instructors.

The Gogglebox alum spoke about the project whilst on This Morning earlier, revealing that whilst she's confident with roundabouts, she isn't as good at manoeuvres.

She explained that she began learning to drive when she was 17, with her having undertaken 13 driving tests in the more than a decade since - but hasn't yet managed to pass.

When asked by presenter Dermot O'Leary, 49, whether she had considered giving up on trying to pass the test over the last decade, Scarlett responded: "I do not give up."

And she said to Alison Hammond, 47, that whilst she would love to blame instructors or examiners for her history of failing the driving test, she doesn't hold them responsible.

The I'm a Celebrity winner made the admission when asked if the issue is that she gets nervous with an instructor next to her, to which she said: "No, I just can't drive."

Discussing her experience, she said: "I started when I was 17. I'm now 31. I can do roundabouts [but] manoeuvres I still need to work on. I'm definitely getting better [though]."

The interview on the ITV show this morning saw Scarlett share a story about one of her exams, in which she pulled up behind a bus thinking it was "just in the line of traffic."

She however said that it turned out not to be the case, with her explaining: "It was a school bus [though so] we had to sit for 20 minutes while all the kids got off the bus."

The recent interview saw Scarlett also promote her Channel 4 documentary Britain's Tourette's Mystery: Scarlett Moffatt Investigates - which will air tonight.

It sees the reality TV star explore a rise in the number of children and teenagers who have presented with signs of tic disorders since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Scarlett - who had facial tics when she was younger - spoke to a people with Tourette's, as well as a psychiatrist and a neurologist, as part of filming for the project.

Britain's Tourette's Mystery: Scarlett Moffatt Investigates is on Channel 4 tonight (July 19) at 10pm. This Morning continues weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub from 10am.
