Scarlett Moffatt has paid a beautiful tribute to former Gogglebox co-star June Bernicoff, following her death at the age of 82.
It was announced on Friday that June had passed away after a short illness, two and a half years after the death of her husband Leon, also a firm favourite with fans of the Channel 4 show.
Just like Scarlett, her mam Betty and dad Mark, Leon and June were part of the cast back in the early days of the programme, with Leon and June the first couple to be signed up by producers.
And, paying tribute to them both following June's death, County Durham lass Scarlett took to her Instagram story to share a picture of them and write: "You will be missed by all. Reunited with your true love. Sending love to your family and all that knew and loved you."
Gogglebox aired last night and also made an on-air tribute to June with a simple message "In loving memory, June Bernicoff, 1937-2020."
It was on the Gogglebox Twitter page where the most heartfelt tribute was made as the team shared a famous clip of June hoovering crisps off Leon's jumper as he sat watching TV, which you can watch above.
The clip moved many of the show's followers, with one reacting: "My thoughts are with Leon and June’s family and friends, I hope you have some comfort in the hours of delight they brought to many on Gogglebox, TV history," and another responding: "Such sad news. What a lovely lady she was. I’m sure she’s now at peace with Leon. Together for eternity. Deepest sympathys to her beloved family. RIP June."
