As she thanked the MTV Awards for a gong to celebrate her career, Scarlett Johansson was subjected to a sliming by husband Colin Jost.
Despite swearing in surprise, the movie star did seem to be in on it.
But the joke was on the couple, who had mistaken the ceremony for the Nickelodeon Awards, where the night’s winners are covered in green gunk – and they don’t have to mop it up themselves, either.
At least Scarlett, 36, shared a clip from her film Black Widow, one of the blockbusters held back from cinema release for over a year.
Ali G returns
Ali G was back in da house at the MTV Awards, as Sacha Baron Cohen revived his character to collect the Comedic Genius Award.
But another of his creations, Borat, accepted the trophy – or “cup of gold teeth” as he called it – before a third alter-ego, Bruno, arrived to tell some un-PC jokes.
Then, speaking as himself, the comic joked: “I am officially cancelling myself. You can keep it.”
