Ivy's sister is dead. Her sister's Headteacher demands that she is to replace her. Ivy has a lost diary to find without telling anyone. Her trouble-making twin Scarlet turns out to be more trouble making than Ivy thought.
When the shy Ivy's rebellious twin sister Scarlet dies of influenza at the creepy Rookwood boarding school, Ivy is forced to "take her place" in secret. Determined to find out if her sister really did die of influenza, Ivy needs to keep up her act of the minx, to do this though she has to find all the missing pieces of her sister's diary.
But faced with the pure evil Miss Fox and group of girls with a mysterious grudge against Scarlet, Ivy's hunt for her sister leads to an unavoidable question: Is her twin really dead?
I absolutely loved this book and I'd give it 6 out of 5 stars, it's one of the best storylines I've ever come across. I'm waiting eagerly for the next one. I really like Ivy, but I think my favourite character would probably be Scarlet because I relate to her more.
I think anyone who doesn't get too scared by stalkers and the mysterious disappearances of girls, along with teachers who throw children off rooftops, will really really enjoy it.
