'Scares me' - Bolton Wanderers fans highlight area of concern in mixed Rotherham team news reaction

Bolton Wanderers have made three changes from the side which lost against Accrington Stanley for the New Year's Day clash against Rotherham United.

In today's team news, Joel Dixon lines up as goalkeeper for Wanderers, with a back four in front of him as Adam Senior as right-back with Declan John playing as left-back, with Ricardo Almeida Santos and Will Aimson as the central defenders.

Central midfield today for Wanderers will be George Thomason and George Johnston, with Nathan Delfouneso playing in the number 10 role.

And upfront, Elias Kachunga is poised to line up on the right, with Dapo Afolayan on the left and Eoin Doyle through the middle.

There is no place in the squad for Kieran Lee or MJ Williams, while new signing Dion Charles has not been registered in time for today's game and Bolton await clearance on Xavier Aamechi's loan being extended.

No Williams or Lee means a relatively inexperienced engine room for Wanderers in comparision today with Thomason and Johnston likely to be the pair in the middle of the park for Bolton.

And fans on Twitter have highlighted the situation ahead of the encounter at the New York Stadium.

Martin Pendlebury wrote: "The middle of the park scares me, but with all things considered I'm surprised we have still managed to put a decent ish side out."

Andrew Broome wrote: "1 midfielder… Johnston and Senior no doubt in there with Thomason but clearly out of position. It is what it is. Come on lads let’s give it a go."

Chris Merrills wrote: "Not as bad as first feared, thankfully."

Stephen J Garner wrote: "Not a bad team on paper but how many are really fit or is this the walking dead?"

Mike Taylor wrote: "No midfield! No Lee & MJ is a huge blow!"

Aaron James wrote: "No midfield."

Paul Burke wrote: "Got to try win midfield otherwise we knackered."

@Si64981615 posted: "No Lee and MJ (gulps)."

@GreenManForest posted: "Other than Baka very little options from the bench too."
