Millwall have confirmed they parted company with manager Neil Harris and assistant David Livermore and this news has naturally led to reaction aplenty from Leeds United fans.
Adam Barrett has been placed in temporary charge of the first team and will lead the squad for their upcoming match on Saturday against Leeds United. The club is now conducting a 'thorough' recruitment process as they look for a new manager.
Harris joined the club as boss in 2015 and led the club to Wembley appearances and runs to the FA Cup quarter-finals (twice).
Millwall have also re-established themselves as a Championship club under Harris but the club have confirmed that the club legend has stepped down.
Millwall chairman John Berylson explained: “Firstly I would like to place on record my sincere gratitude to Neil for all of his hard work, commitment, determination and inarguable success as manager of this great football club.
“During his time in charge we have achieved so much and so many of his greatest moments as manager will live long in the memory of all Millwall fans fortunate to have seen and enjoyed them.
“Neil’s achievements ensure that he is listed alongside some of the club’s greatest-ever managers, furthering his legendary standing at Millwall."
Naturally this news has led to plenty of jokes from Leeds fans, especially due to the fact that Millwall always seem to 'turn up for their World Cup final'.
