Police are warning Palos Park residents about a landscaping scam targeting seniors in the southwest suburb.
A male suspect, who claimed to be a landscaper, approached a resident Nov. 15 and offered to clean leaves at “a reasonable rate,” Palos Park police said. The resident went outside with the landscaper and locked the front door behind them.
The resident noticed a second male suspect trying to get into the home, police said. When they asked him what he was doing, he said he “wanted to see the inside of the home.” Both suspects then left the area.
Anyone who believes they may have been targeted by scammers is advised to contact police.
