Scaffolding goes up outside Broadmarsh centre ahead of planned demolition

Scaffolding has been seen outside the Broadmarsh centre ahead of its planned demolition.

Nottingham City Council has also said it will be carrying out overnight resurfacing works to roads in the Broad Marsh area.

The work will start on Monday, August 23, and will prepare the roads for the reopening of the new car park and bus station this Autumn.

It will also pave the way for new cycle lanes through the area, which will be delivered over the next few years as part of the Transforming Cities programme.

The council has said the work will be completed by Wednesday, September 8.

Phase one of the works happens from Monday, August 23, to Tuesday, August 31, at Canal Street between the Carrington Street junction and up to and including the Trent Street junction.

There will be a signed diversion in place from the London Road Island.

The second phase will start on Wednesday, September 1, to Tuesday, September 7, between the Carrington Street junction and Canal Street to Greyfriar Gate.

The work will happen between 9pm and 4am to minimise disruption.
