Bellator sensation James Gallagher is set to stay with the promotion for the foreseeable future and will announce his next fight next week.
The SBG prospect, fresh off headlining Bellator Dublin last month, took to Instagram this afternoon to announce that he's signing a six fight deal with MMA's second largest promotion.
The 22-year-old boasts a professional record of 8-1 and is back in form after an impressive comeback from defeat at the 3 Arena show on February 23.
In an Instagram post, the 'Strabanimal' said: "Absolutely delighted to have signed a new 6 fight deal with @bellatormma this one will not only help change my life but also my family as they’re the ones who got me to this point.
"Thank you @mikekogan @bellatormma @paradigmsm @coach_kavanagh @thenotoriousmma would not be possible without yous all! Next fight be announced Monday. necks and cheques, life changing shit! Welcome to the jimmy show! @bellatormma ."
It was the fairytale ending at Bellator 217 as James Gallagher picked up a first round victory over Steven Graham in front of a capacity crowd in Dublin.
After bursting into a takedown early, Gallagher took control of the fight from the beginning and never looked troubled before putting Graham away with a rear naked choke.
A Tyrone native, he walked out to a mash-up of Irish national anthem Amhrain na bhFiann and 'Freed From Desire' to the delight of his home crowd, who cheered him on to victory.
