Sayers returning to Liverpool city centre after customer demand

Sayers is returning to Liverpool city centre next week, due to popular demand.

The Poundcafe and Poundbakery in Williamson Square is being transformed into a and Sayers Cafe on Tuesday (January 21).

According to Sayers, many long standing customers have been lobbying for the Sayers to return to the city centre.

From Tuesday, fans will once again be able to tuck into the bakery’s popular favourites during a trip to town, including sausage rolls and Dinkies. On the opening day there will be a big celebration to mark the launch, including plenty of giveaways throughout the day.

Last December, Sayers and Poundbakery Ltd was formed after a buyout, saving 1,500 jobs across the country.

The new owner is said to be keen to invest in Sayers shops, particularly across Merseyside, where the business was founded over 100 years ago.

Marketing manager Keely Silvester, said “Sayers is Liverpool through and through. I’m sure most people from the city have memories of growing up and visiting Sayers with their family, buying Dinkies, Chocolate Eclairs, Strawberry Tarts, Bavarian Slices and of course Sausage Rolls.

“It’s a Liverpool institution and we’re so pleased to bring it back to the city centre of Liverpool. Our customers will also be pleased to see Sayers return, as everybody loves a bit of nostalgia and that’s what Sayers is to Liverpool – a piece of history, with a bright future ahead.”
