I may be biased as a professional vacuum tester, but now that I've used ones with the top specs and features, which marry up minimal effort and absolutely spotless floors every time, I couldn't go back to a sub-standard model.
Of the 82 vacuums we've tested, the Dyson V15 Detect tops the list. And right now, the Dyson V15 Extra is discounted by $250 at Best Buy – and it includes all the extra tools and attachments to clean your entire home.
I've recommended this vacuum countless times to anybody who'll listen, as there are so many reasons why it's the best Dyson vacuum out there. I'd act fast on this one – the Labor Day deals won't be around for much longer.
Why the Dyson V15 Detect is worth every cent at this discounted price
The Dyson V15 Detect is the overall winner for us, and this is largely down to the fact that it boasts incredible, market-leading suction power that banishes any mess from any floor – but without the restrictions of a power cord. You get the convenient, lightweight experience of a cordless stick, but the cleaning power of one of the industry's leading upright vacuums.
Not only that, but the V15 Detect is packed full of smart and intuitive features that make life easier when cleaning. The most useful is the green diode light, which reveals dust and super-fine material on the floor that the naked eye can't normally see. Knowing exactly when the floor is completely clean is a transformative way to deep-clean your house.
The Dyson V15 Detect also happens to be our pick for pet hair. It can pull cat and dog hair from any surface – even thick rugs and carpets – without it ever getting tangled in the brushroll. I tested it at a local pet shelter, and it did a better job than all others I've used there.
Other smart features include floor sensors that adapt the suction power to the need – so, vacuum carpets or dirty areas and the suction increases, or vacuum smooth floors with little debris, and your battery life will be preserved.
The Dyson V15 Detect Extra is available for $599.99 at Best Buy. This 'Extra' version comes with all 10 cleaning attachments available for the Dyson V15 Detect.

The Dyson V15 Detect may be our beloved favorite, but with the Labor Day sales bringing us countless, but limited-time-only deals right now, there are plenty more vacuums I can recommend – for every budget.

Also discounted right now (by $250!) is the slimmer, lighter version of the Dyson V15 Detect. It has all the same features, except for a smaller dustbin and slightly lower suction power.

If you're on a tighter budget, the Dyson V8 is the best-value cordless Dyson you can buy. The V15 Detect and V12 Detect Slim have stronger features and performance specs, but the V8 is still a worthy alternative that beats much of the competition from other brands.

The Dreame R20 looks, feels, and works similarly to many Dyson models, making it one of our top Dyson alternatives if you're on a budget.

I don't usually recommend budget vacuums, but if your home has hard floors and doesn't tend to get too messy, the Ultenic U16 Flex is a great choice. When comparing this budget vacuum against the Dyson V15 Detect, I loved that the Ultenic has an almost-identical green light that reveals hidden dust.

Keeping one of the leading handheld vacuums nearby is a great way to prevent dust, mess and pet hair from building up, making your weekly cleans easier. This Black+Decker model is our top pick, pulling fur from fabric with ease.

If you have a big home with pets, kids, and frequent mess, I'd recommend considering an upright vacuum that's better equipped to handle it. The Shark POWERDETECT is our favorite, cleaning every mess in a single pass.
