Saved By The Bell reunion, Battlestar Galactica reboot heading to new streaming site

Two beloved series are returning to ours screens.

Beloved 90s sitcom Saved By The Bell is finally getting a new reunion series on new streaming service Peacock from NBC Universal.

The series has been confirmed, via Collider , and will star original series actors Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley.

No other details are known about the show at this time, but Berkley and Lopez were reunited on The Ellen Show back in 2016.

Meanwhile, sci-fi favourite Battlestar Galactica is set to get a whole new reboot from Mr Robot and Homecoming creator Sam Esmail.

The original Battlestar Galactica series aired in 1978 followed by a brief sequel series, Galactica 1980.

The show was rebooted for an acclaimed four-season run by Ronald D. Moore in 2004 and tackled some dark and gritty subject matter, including hard-hitting topics such as suicide bombers and nuclear war.

There had previously been plans for Battlestar Galactica film but it seems a new television drama was settled on.

It is thought to have no connection to the previous iterations of the franchise, however.

Little else is known about the new series at this point, but it too will be released on NBC Universal's upcoming streaming service Peacock.

The service will also see the revival of US sitcom Punky Brewster, following the lead character played by Soleil Moon Frye as an adult.

Peacock is set to launch in the US in April 2020.
