Save the Seats is coming Sunday -- here's a sneak peek

Dec. 22--What are you doing for New Year's Eve? Save the Seats is our big annual feature with loads of ticket reservations for the big night, and they're all for Tribune readers when the time comes.

Save the Seats usually runs on the Friday before New Year's Eve. This year that's Christmas Day; look for it instead in Sunday's A section and online at chicagtribune.com beginning at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 27. The tickets will all go on sale Monday. In the meantime, here's a first show to start things out -- there are more than two dozen more where this came from:

'Beautiful -- The Carole King Musical': The Broadway jukebox musical about the singer/songwriter is now in the Loop, with Evanston's Abby Mueller taking over from her Tony-winning sister Jessie as Carole King. We've reserved tickets two different shows for Dec. 31. Eight seats ($100 per, sold in pairs or fours) for both the 2 and 7:30 p.m. shows at the Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph St. Call 312-977-1702 when the box office line opens at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28.

Also check out Phil Vettel's annual Save the Tables for New Year's Eve restaurants, online beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, and with a second batch going online Wednesday at 12:01 a.m., and in Food Dining.
