'Save our backline!' Arsenal fans send transfer message to Barcelona star

Arsenal fans are brilliant at executing self-depreciation and the latest dose of it came during the club's impressive 3-1 over Valencia in the Europa League.

Whilst the Gunners actually played well and cruised to victory, everything did not start according to plan. Poor defending led to the opening goal from Valencia's Mouctar Diakhaby but Arsenal responded with two goals from Alexandre Lacazette and a late strike by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, which finished off the first leg.

The contest is far from done and Valencia will still fancy their chances in the second leg but Arsenal fans were afforded time to celebrate at the Emirates following what was a strong display.

Not only that, some of Lacazette's French national team-mates got in on the act and hailed the forward for his contributions in the capital.

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann praised Lacazette first before Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti joined the party with the tweet below.

That naturally prompted a flurry of responses from Arsenal fans wanting Umtiti to solve the club's leaky defence next season.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal land the defender a lot of fans certainly seem to want. Roll on the summer transfer window.
