Save My Bag, an Italian accessories brand, has made its official Thai debut.

According to Valentina Agazzi, co-founder of Sedicisei SRL, the trademark owner of the Save My Bag brand, the shop-in-shop Save My Bag store opened yesterday on the mezzanine floor at Paragon Department Store.

On Oct 1, the brand had a soft opening of its free-standing store at Don Mueang airport.

Sedicisei this month appointed Minor Corporation Plc, a fashion and lifestyle arm of Minor Group, to distribute products in Thailand.

According to Mrs Agazzi, a further six new stores will open this year, including branches at The Emporium and Terminal 21's Pattaya branch.

Minor International plans to open 3-5 Save My Bag stores in Thailand a year. About 15 stores will be open within three years.

James Richard Amatavivadhana, chief executive of Minor International, said Save My Bag is the 16th lifestyle brand under Minor International's product portfolio.

Save My Bag is an excellent bag with unique and multiple designs and colours, Mr James said.

The brand was founded in 2013 in Bergamo, Italy by Mrs Agazzi, who is of Thai and Italian parentage, and her husband, Stefano Agazzi.

An early version of the bag was distributed for free as a premium gift set at a jewellery event in Las Vegas in 2012.

But the founders later experienced demand from many female customers, so the couple launched the Save My Bag brand.

Save My Bag is now distributed in 40 countries, with 23 flagship stores and sales at more than 1,500 selective boutiques worldwide.

Save My Bag's revenue reached €20 million (758.8 million baht) in 2017. The company expects to increase revenue by 20% in 2019.

Some 30% of global revenue comes from Asia, including Japan, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.

"I come to Thailand every year," Mrs Agazzi said. "With our understanding of Thai people, I am confident that Thais will love our products and Thailand will be one of our important markets in the near future."

Save My Bag is designed from poly-fabric with Lycra material that is durable and lightweight.

All products are 100% made in Italy. Prices range from 1,500 to 2,990 baht depending on the item.

Save My Bag's target customer age group is 25-45 years old.
