Savannah Guthrie returned to the “Today” show Thursday morning after abruptly departing Wednesday's broadcast 90 minutes in.
Guthrie sat alongside Willie Geist but did not provide an explanation for her sudden absence.
Her departure comes amid the ongoing disappearance of her 84-year-old mother, who has been missing for three months following a suspected abduction from her Arizona home.
The FBI previously released images of a masked, armed individual outside her mother's residence on the night she vanished, though no suspect has been identified.
Local authorities confirm the search for Guthrie's mother remains active and ongoing, urging anyone with information to contact 88-CRIME or the FBI tip line.
