A man was taken to hospital after a ‘serious assault’ in Glasgow.
Areas surrounding Tollcross Park and Wellshot Road were cordoned off by police overnight.
Officers raced to the area at around 1.30am following reports of a serious assault.
The man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with "serious" but not life threatening injuries.
Police say enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.30am, officers received a report that a 44-year-old man had been seriously assaulted in the Tollcross Road area of Glasgow.
“The man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
