Sausage and Cider Festival is heading to Nottingham with a banger-eating challenge

There's a chance to sample some of the 'quirkiest and most adventurous sausages' at a Sausage and Cider Festival heading to Nottingham.

Tickets are now on sale for the adult-only one-day event, at Nottingham Trent University's Conference Centre in Burton Street on Saturday, March 28.

More than 25 different types of cider will be on sale from all corners of the UK, including rum cider, chocolate cider and tropical as well as the traditional apple flavour.

Non-cider drinkers can look forward to plenty of alternatives such as craft beer, gin, prosecco and soft drinks.

Cranberry and stilton, a 12in bratwurst and veganwurst for veggies and vegans are amongst the variety of sausages.

Festival-goers can take part in two food challenges - how many sausages they can eat in two minutes and a chilli-eating competition, featuring the world's hottest chilli.

Entertainment will be provided by the house band playing live and DJs.

Admission is 18+ and ID will be required.

Two five-hour sessions are available from noon to 5pm and 6pm to 11pm. Tickets start at £10 from Eventbrite or sausageandciderfest.co.uk
