Saul Niguez Man Utd 'contract details emerge' as Red Devils prepare huge wage increase

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to offer Saul Niguez around £200,000 a week to make the move to Old Trafford this summer - a staggering increase on his current wages at Atletico Madrid.

Spanish midfielder Saul last month emerged as one of United's top targets in the summer transfer window, with uncertainty still surrounding Paul Pogba's long-term future at the club.

United are known to have scouted Saul several times, and watched him in last month's Champions League last-16 clash against Liverpool at Anfield shortly before the suspension of football, which Atletico won 3-2.

The Spanish international - who had scored the only goal of the first leg against the Reds - would stand to increase his pay packet by £85,000 a week at United according to a report.

Saul signed a massive nine-year contract at Atletico in 2017, but the La Liga club have often been forced to stand aside and let some of their talents leave if the offer is right.

With the coronavirus pandemic playing havoc with football clubs' plans this summer, it is thought that most sides will be fairly quiet in the summer transfer window.

However Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that he feels United could "exploit" the situation and snap up players given the uncertainty in the market.

"Then, the market, who knows how the market is going to react to this?" he told Sky Sports.

"Who knows which clubs need to sell players? There might be just a situation there where you can exploit, and I know that we at Man Utd we are one of the biggest, and the biggest, financially well-off.

"I'm sure we are capable, when we get back to normality, that we can do the business that we want to."
