Saul Niguez announces 'new team' amid Arsenal and Chelsea transfer speculation

Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Chelsea among others, has finally announced his 'new team', after teasing the announcement for the last three days on social media.

Back on Sunday, the Spaniard teased on social media that he would be announcing a 'new club' on Wednesday June 3, leading to fans of all major clubs around the world dreaming that he could be making a move to their club in the next transfer window.

However, football fans who thought the Spaniard could be making a big-money move in the next transfer window have been left disappointed, with the midfielder announcing the creation of a new football team in Elche, rather than announcing a transfer away from the Wanda Metropolitano.

Saul has this morning announced on social media that he and his brother Aarón have created a new football team called Costa City club, based in Elche, which will bring together more than 30 teams and more than 500 players of all categories (between 4 and 18 years old) in the city of Elche.

Sorry Arsenal and Chelsea fans, he's not coming to the Premier League, in the next transfer window at least.

This announcement came as a bit of a surprise, not necessarily regarding a possible transfer, but the fact that it's not an esports team, which was heavily speculated.

In terms of footballers getting involved in esports teams, Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta, Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale and Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil are all heavily involved in their own esports organisations.

Ok so he did technically announce a new team, but not the transfer that many fans wanted to see!
