A joint naval exercise, dubbed Blue Defender 21’, carried out by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) with its US counterpart in the Red Sea, concluded on Wednesday.
The exercise was overseen by Rear Admiral Saad Al-Ahmari and Naval Colonel Carl Haywood.
Al-Ahmari said that naval maneuvers aimed to strengthen military cooperation between the Saudi and US navies, raise combat readiness, and exchange expertise in port protection and mine clearance on land and water in the Red Sea.
He added that the exercise included the participation of naval units, support boats, landing ships and a set of helicopters, which implemented practical and tactical maneuvers.
According to Al-Ahmari, participants demonstrated the highest standards of readiness and professionalism, which “reflected the development and distinction of our armed forces at the global level.”
