A military exercise between the Saudi Royal Land Forces and the US military in the Kingdom came to a close on Thursday.
The "Commander 2019" drill, which was launched around two weeks ago, concluded at the main exercise center at the King Khaled Military City in the Northern Region.
Saudi Royal Land Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Fahd al Mutair said that the exercise aims to consolidate military cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of expertise, and to improve combat readiness.
He said the drill was part of joint exercises held between the Saudi Royal Land Forces and the forces of friendly countries.
Lieutenant Gen. Terry Ferrell, US Army Central Commanding General, described the exercise as “excellent,” saying it reflects the years-long friendship between Saudi Arabia and the US.
The friendship will continue and become stronger, he said, thanking all who have participated in the drill.
Ferrell also said he was looking forward to improving the partnership between the two countries.
