Saudi-UAE Red Crescent Authorities Jointly Dispatch Relief Plane to Iran

Upon the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the support of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority has participated, within the joint Saudi-UAE initiative to alleviate the suffering of Iranian citizens.

A relief plane was dispatched to Tehran, laden with 95 tons of humanitarian necessary needs to support those affected by floods in Iran and to alleviate the suffering of Iranian citizens affected by the devastating floods witnessed recently in Iran.

This came after defining the most important needs of the Iranian affected at this stage, and accordingly the focus was on food and shelter requirements at the moment, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

For his part, the President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Qassem, has affirmed that the directives of King Salman embody bonds of brotherhood and solidarity with the Iranian people, pointing out that the humanitarian operations in Iran come as an extension of the Kingdom's approach and wise leadership in standing up by those affected by humanitarian crises and natural disasters everywhere and at any time, and that this initiative enjoys the attention and follow-up of those involved in this humanitarian action.

The Saudi-UAE joint initiative represents a qualitative leap in the efforts of the two sides in the humanitarian field, will make a difference in the ongoing relief efforts to improve the conditions being experienced by the affected people in the affected areas of Iran and contribute to enhancing the ability of the people there to overcome their current situation, according to SPA.

It is worth mentioning that the Saudi Red Crescent Authority has assigned a team of its employees to follow-up the equipment and foodstuffs being sent to the Iranian citizens and meet with the team of the UAE Red Crescent Authority as part of the joint initiative between the two sides.
