The Saudi National Energy Services Company (NESCo), Tarshid, signed an agreement with the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) to rehabilitate its main institutions to become the first government health facilities to target energy efficiency.
The deal is part of Tarshid’s projects to increase energy consumption efficiency in the government sector.
According to the deal, NESCo will enhance energy consumption efficiency at KFSH&RC in Riyadh and Jeddah and at the King Fahad National Center for Children's Cancer and Research in Riyadh.
Solutions to save energy include replacing the lighting systems with LED and introducing advanced technologies to current cooling.
The current consumption of KFSH&RC is around 290 million kilowatts per hour, while the King Fahad National Center for Children's Cancer and Research consumes is around 24 million kilowatts per hour.
Tarshid aims to save at least 20 to 25 percent energy in each facility.
