Saudi Sports Authority Reveals Details of Upcoming Spanish Football Super Cup

The Saudi General Sport Authority and Royal Spanish Football Federation revealed on Wednesday the details of the Spanish Super Cup that will be hosted by Saudi Arabia in January.

GSA chief Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal and Royal Spanish Football Federation president Luis Manuel Rubiales unveiled the details of the event, including ticket prices and venues.

The landmark event will feature Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Valencia. They will be vying for the title at the event that kicks off on January 8 and concludes on January 12.

The first match will feature Real Madrid against Valencia on January 8, while Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will play the following day. The matches will be played at Jeddah’s King Abdullah Sport City Stadium.

The event will feature recreational events that celebrate football and attract fans from all over the world.

Prince Abdulaziz said the Kingdom’s hosting of the Super Cup aims to transform it into a global destination for sports events.

“We are delighted to host the four Spanish clubs,” he added. “The tournament will underline the Kingdom’s capabilities in holding the most important championships and sports events.”

Rubiales said Saudi Arabia has succeeded in organizing the event, saying he was impressed with preparations at the stadiums.

“It will be a great tournament that will attract fans from all over the world,” he stated, extending his gratitude to Saudi Arabia and the GSA.
