Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held talks in Rabat on Wednesday with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita.

Talks focused on bilateral relations and means to develop them.

Speaking to the media, Prince Faisal expressed Riyadh’s keenness to boost the close ties with Rabat through constant coordination in all fields and in order to achieve their common interests.

The talks reflected the extent of the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Morocco over challenges facing the Arab world, he added.

He said foreign meddling and terrorism were among the top challenges, accusing them of destabilizing the region.

Such issues require common coordination and cooperation to confront and secure permanent peace in the region, he continued.

For his part, Bourita underlined the strength of the historic relations between Saudi Arabia and Morocco.

He expressed Morocco’s complete support for the positions Riyadh takes to preserve its security and sovereignty.

Saudi Arabia safety is a red line for Morocco, which will continue to support it at all arenas and international organizations, he stated.

Moreover, he stressed Rabat’s rejection of military intervention in Libya, saying it will complicate efforts to reach a peaceful solution to its crisis and will jeopardize the security and stability of North Africa and the entire Arab region.
