
The Saudi-Moroccan Business Council revealed plans to launch the “Two Kingdom’s Forum and Exhibition” in Jeddah in the first quarter of 2022.
Ali Borman Al-Yami, head of the council, said a list of participating companies is being prepared.
Moreover, he said the upcoming inauguration of the Saudi Commercial Attaché in Casablanca is a major step in reinforcing bilateral cooperation because it helps exporters and industries in Saudi Arabia, he said, adding that this goes in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Saudi-Moroccan Business Council is receiving support from both governments, he stressed.
Further, the Council has signed four memorandums of understanding to strengthen partnership in tourism, electricity, renewable energy, logistics and food sectors, Yami noted.
Trade between Saudi Arabia and Morocco reached 14.5 billion dirham ($1.45 billion) in 2019, according to the data provided by the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM).
CGEM added that approximately 250 Saudi companies are investing in Morocco, while 20 Moroccan companies are investing in the Kingdom.
Morocco’s exports to Saudi Arabia include inorganic chemical products, vehicles, spare parts, fruits and clothes. Saudi Arabia’s exports to Morocco include cement, paper, stones, salts, and mineral products.
