The Saudi Ministry of Sports and Saudi Arabia’s Public Health Authority (Weqaya) announced on Thursday updated health protocols related to the attendance of fans to sports events amid a surge in coronavirus cases.
The move was announced after the Kingdom reintroduced the mandatory wearing of face masks and social distancing.
The sports ministry dropped the number of fans allowed at stadiums. A seat must be kept vacant between each fan. Family members will be allowed to be seated next to each other.
Only fans who have received their full vaccine shots will be allowed at events.
They must show proof of vaccination through the Tawakkalna app.
All stadium workers must be vaccinated.
Fans are banned from bringing in their own food and drink.
Face masks will be mandatory at all indoor and outdoor sports venues.
