Saudi Arabia's Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan has issued the first two licenses for music institutes in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Music International Training Center and Music Training House have obtained the two licenses for musical training.
Prince Badr called for those interested in the private and non-profit sectors to apply for licenses to operate businesses in the cultural field through a Tweet on Monday.
This comes within the experimental launch of a project to establish specialized training institutes in the fields of culture and arts to support Saudi talents and develop cultural and artistic capabilities, state news agency SPA reported.
“I invite all those interested in the private and non-profit sectors to submit applications for licenses for institutes in various cultural fields on a specialized platform that will start its work after 90 days,” Prince Badr said in his Tweet.
Last November, Saudi Arabia confirmed that music, theater, and the arts will now be included in the curriculum of public and private schools in the Kingdom.
Earlier in August, the Ministry announced the establishment of academies specialized in arts and music.
Notably, two new art academies were established already with one specialized in heritage and traditional arts, while the other is dedicated to music.
Applicants were called to register in autumn of 2020 for arts while music-enthusiasts will be able to register by 2021.
