Saudi Minister of Transport Dr. Nabil al-Amoudi announced on Tuesday that operations at the Haramain train will resume in 30 days after a fire broke out at the station.

The blaze broke out on Sunday in the second floor and roof of the station. The ground and first floors were unaffected.

“Despite the damage, the train will resume service in 30 days,” said Amoudi.

The 6.7 billion euro ($7.3 billion), 450 km (280 mile) Haramain Railway linking the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, with the Red Sea coastal city of Jeddah, was opened in September last year.

Amoudi said Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are keen to provide the best services to the visitors and Umrah pilgrims at the holy cities.
