
King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's (KSrelief) project for clearing mines (Masam) in Yemen removed a total of 408 landmines during the fourth week of May 2019.
The project included removing 19 antipersonnel mines, 112 anti-tank mines, 273 unexploded ordnance and 4 explosive devices.
Since the start of the project, 72,276 landmines, have been demined, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Mines had been planted by Iranian-backed Houthi militias in Yemen, claiming the lives of children, women and the elderly, whether by death, serious injuries or amputation.
