In the fourth week of June 2019, the Riyadh-based King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief)'s project for clearing landmines (MASAM) in Yemen cleared 604 mines.
The operations included four anti-personnel mines, 268 anti-tank mines, 330 unexploded ordnance, and two explosive devices, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Since the start of the project, 74,115 mines have been uprooted, originally implanted by the Houthi militias in Yemen.
The mines are hidden in different shapes, colors and methods that claimed the lives of a large number of children, women and the elderly, whether by death or serious injuries or amputation of organs.
