Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, offered on Tuesday their condolences to Egypt over the death of former President Hosni Mubarak.

In two separate cables to President Abdula Fattah al-Sisi, they offered their condolences to the people of Egypt.

Mubarak died Tuesday at the age of 91 weeks after undergoing surgery.

He ruled Egypt for 30 years until he resigned following mass protests against his rule in 2011.

In power, Mubarak promoted Middle East peace and, from 2004, backed economic liberalization measures that delivered sturdy growth.
