Saudi Interior Ministry: Terrorist Executed for Forming Armed Cell to Destabilize Security

The Saudi Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday that it has executed a criminal accused of forming an armed terrorist cell with the aim of killing security forces, sparking riots and stoking sectarian strife in the Kingdom.

It identified the accused as Saudi citizen Mustafa bin Hashem bin Isa Al Darwish.

It found that he had manufactured explosives with the aim to destabilize the country. Along with other members of the terror cell, he plotted to kill members of the security forces by opening fire at their patrols.

He also met with wanted suspects, including figures charged with riots.

Security authorities managed to arrest Al Darwish and after investigations, it found him guilty of committing these crimes. His case was referred to the specialized criminal court, which sentenced him death.

He was executed in al-Dammam city on Tuesday.

The Interior Ministry underscored its keenness on imposing security in the Kingdom. It vowed that it will not allow anyone to harm its security and stability and safety of its citizens and residents.
