The Saudi decree that only people who have received two Covid vaccine shots are allowed to travel abroad went into effect on Monday.
The Ministry of Interior said children under 12 years of age are exempt from the order on condition that they obtain recognized travel insurance from the Saudi central bank.
The policy would cover the risk of contracting Covid-19 outside Saudi Arabia.
The exemption also covers people who have recovered from the virus by at least six months and people who have been infected and received the first shot of the vaccine.
