The Saudi Health Ministry called on people to comply with health measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus on Sunday as it reported 4,233 new COVID-19 cases.
The new cases brought the total infections to 127,541, with 972 deaths.
"There are two paths before us. The average infection rate could rise if people continue not to comply, or we could bring the rate back down," Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali said.
During a virtual news briefing, he said: "We will intervene or apply additional measures in any region that requires that.”
The capital Riyadh recorded 1,735 more infections, followed by Jeddah with 352 new cases, Makkah 314, Dammam 161 and Madinah 158, Abdelali added.
